Dr Gayanie Basnayake

Gayanie graduated from the University of Adelaide in 2006. After graduating she returned to Melbourne and worked in a number of dental surgeries across Victoria before opening Lakeside Dental Surgery in 2009.

Gayanie enjoys all aspects of general dentistry, where her aim is to provide a gentle, caring and a  positive dental experience for both adults and children.

Outside of dentistry Gayanie enjoys spending time with her family and travelling the world and experiencing different cultures and environments.

 

Dr Jessica Ong

After graduating from La Trobe University, Jessica began her career in regional Victoria. She has worked in both public and private sectors, and maintains a teaching role with La Trobe University. In 2017 she returned to Melbourne and started to work at Lakeside Dental Surgery where she enjoys providing dental care to the families in the area. She also enjoys taking the time to help people have a positive dental experience.

When she’s not at work, Dr Jessica can be found doing pottery, travelling and going to farmers markets.

 

Dr Nathanael Khoo

Nathanael graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Dental Science with Honours. Upon graduation he worked in a number of practices across metropolitan Melbourne and the greater Gippsland region in both private and public settings.

His area of interest is in Family dentistry and he always endeavours to provide a comfortable and pleasant experience for all who come and visit.

When not in clinic Nathanael enjoys playing badminton and watching AFL (Go the Kangas!). 

 

Dr Jabbok Lam

Jabbok graduated from La Trobe University completing his Bachelor of Health Sciences (Dentistry)/Master of Dentistry. He has since worked in both public and private practices gaining a wealth of experience in all aspects of general dentistry. Jabbok aims to provide each patient with a comfortable and relaxing dental experience. 

In his spare time, Jabbok enjoys watching sports, especially AFL and Soccer, as well as catching up on the latest movies and tv shows.

Dr Shanilla De Silva

Shanilla graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Doctor of Dental Surgery, during which she gained extensive experience in both a metropolitan and regional setting. Shanilla enjoys all aspects of dentistry; especially being able to meet new people and provide them with a comfortable, caring and warm environment. 

Outside of dentistry, Shanilla enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, binge watching horror movies, baking chocolate goodies and discovering new cuisines

Dr Sindhu Parthasarathy

Sindhu is a graduate of the University of Melbourne, having first achieved a Bachelor of Biomedicine and then a Doctor of Dental Surgery. Since graduating she has been working in private dental clinics across Melbourne.

Sindhu enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and has particular interests in restorative treatment, periodontics and paediatric dentistry. She is a strong believer in patient-centred care and strives to achieve a relaxing environment in the dental surgery. Children and patients suffering from dental anxiety are often referred to her due to her caring and warm manner.

Sindhu is passionate about oral health promotion and has volunteered in a dental outreach program in Cambodia and the Smokefree Smiles program with Cancer Council Victoria.

Outside of work, Sindhu enjoys travelling, cooking and exploring new restaurants.

 

Dr Sophia Kim

Sophia graduated from the University of Adelaide with her Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree and has worked in private clinics in Swan Hill and Melbourne.

She enjoys the artistic component of dentistry and strives for clinical excellence with all types of procedure. She is a firm believer in conservative dentistry and emphasises the importance of early prevention from a young age. She prides herself on being a gentle operator and finds it very rewarding to make dental visits more comfortable and positive, especially for young children and anxious patients.

In her spare time, Sophia enjoys playing multiple musical instruments, such as the piano, guitar and Gayageum(Korean harp). She also describes herself as a professional 'foodie', as she is adventurous with food and loves to try new cuisines. 

Dr Siamak Mardani

Dr Mardani holds a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. With his father and older brother both being doctors, he knew early on that he would enter the health field. After graduation in 2004, he has worked in different public and private clinics and held, until recently, a clinical teaching position at Latrobe University, working with fourth and fifth-year dental students. He has, also, actively participated in the different Australasian college of dental surgeons’ educational programs.

The field of dentistry is ever-changing, and Dr. Mardani looks forward to the challenges that each day brings. He utilizes the most advanced technology and stays up-to-date on the latest in dental care. Though some people may feel nervous going to the dentist, Dr. Mardani values the trust his patients place in him. He likes to see people smiling and satisfied after each visit.

Dr. Mardani is a member of the Australian Dental Society. He takes seminars regularly on topics such as dental implants, which Dr. Mardani feels is the future of dentistry.

When he is not in the practice, Dr. Mardani likes to cook, goes to the gym, plays tennis, and practices guitar. He enjoys art and going to museums and exhibitions. Knowledge is his passion in life, and he watches a lot of documentaries and cinema is his favourite art.
